Indie/Alternative August 2013 List

Phew, it’s been a while since I posted something.

Okay, so my last post was about independent music. I’ve decided to start a new series of blog posts which would include 5 of my favorite indie/alt songs (not always new, though) every month.

Let me start with a list for this month!

1. You Say – George Morgan

I discovered this song through a Sawyer Hartman ‘Through My Eyes’ video. Really brilliant stuff! The video was absolutely amazing. I loved the slow motion effects.

2. Born Alone – Wilco

This song kinda reminds of 9th grade (I discovered it as an iTunes Single of The Week then). Really good feel to it. You should listen to it on a chilled summer afternoon while driving.

3. Chocolate – The 1975

AMAZING SONG. Discovered it as an iTunes SOTW. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

4. Let’s Go – Madi Diaz

Discovered it loooong time back as an iTunes free music download. Such a chilled out feel to it! I think you can download it for free (legally) here: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/exclusive-download-madi-diazs-breezy-lets-go-20110913
The music video is also very well directed and very artistic.

5. Astair – Matt Costa

Discovered this as it was part of the Chuck soundtrack. Really nice song. Worth a listen (and probably a purchase).

So, there it is! I hope you like the songs – and stay tuned for more every month! 🙂
